Patients have conveyed that “it is so much more convenient and less stressful” to have a telemedicine personal consultation than to take a day off from work to travel to the doctor’s office and sit with other nervous patients in the waiting room.

The COVID-19 pandemic is thus changing much of the way we will do things in the future, and for the better. “Our patients are surprisingly much happier with this approach. Of course, at some point we need to perform hands on treatment. But with this new manner of seeing patients, we can come to the right diagnosis and treatment plan for most patients more efficiently, quickly, and painlessly, with no loss of personal one-on-one communication.” This is a very welcome new era of telemedicine that has been forced on us by the current difficult times.

Infertility Center of St. Louis Achieves Fertility Breakthrough with Turner Syndrome Patient’s Second Natural Pregnancy Following Ovarian Allotransplantation

[St. Louis, Missouri] — [April 15, 2026] — The Infertility Center of St. Louis (IFC) announced today the successful second pregnancy in a patient with Turner syndrome following an ovarian allotransplantation. Turner syndrome is a rare chromosomal disorder that impacts young females and often results in a decreased ability to become pregnant as adults. This remarkable case opens the ability for individuals with few or no eggs to have children naturally.

Fertility can be preserved for young women by freezing their ovarian cortical tissue with the plan to transplant it back later. In most cases, the patient’s own tissue is used. In this case, the tissue was donated by the patient’s sister, with one‑third implanted into the patient, who did not have functioning ovaries, and the remaining two‑thirds cryopreserved. The procedure has resulted in two natural pregnancies for the patient – first in 2023 and again in 2026.
